Dan Herron, Professional Photographer & FAA Licensed Pilot

Highland Lakes Aerial Photography is a company born out of passion. Dan Herron, founder of Herron Sky View is as passionate and as driven of a business professional as they come, and with a desire to launch a new, specialized type of photography business, he set his sights on using advanced aerial photography technology to bring something new to the table. Raised in Marble Falls, Dan has called the Texas Hill Country home for nearly all of his life – and with a love for the landscape, he learned to take in the views from above.

As a second-generation Marble Falls native, Dan has been working to carry out the tradition that his father, John Herron, passed down to him. John worked for years at GTE Telephone right in the heart of Marble Falls. Throughout his father’s career, Dan would travel with him all throughout the Texas Hill Country while he installed telephone services. During those formative years, Dan developed a love and a fascination for the diverse and beautiful landscape of the Texas Hill Country. And since then, he’s made it his mission to learn the land like the back of his hand.

As a photographer, Dan understood the benefits of an aerial perspective, and he frequently found himself traversing the landscape for the highest vantage point, simply so he could focus on the immense and expansive landscape below like the eyes of a bird. When drone technology became more accessible, Dan quickly became an FAA commercially licensed, certified, and insured professional aerial pilot and photographer. Today, with more than 15 years of experience under his belt, including shooting aerial cinematic footage for the hit prime-time TVB show, Lone Star, he works to ensure that Highland Lakes Aerial Photography can offer its services to real estate companies and interested businesses throughout the Texas Hill Country and Central Texas communities.

For the last six years, Dan has worked in hand in hand with Auston-Bergstrom International Airport (ABIA) as a principle photographer on their annual sustainability report. Along with his knowledge, passion, and industry experience in photography services and drone photography services, Dan utilizes his degree in Mass Communications and his MS in Management to ensure that Highland Lakes Aerial Photography builds strong and long lasting partnerships with our clients through seamless communications and ongoing support and service that they can trust.

To this day, we rely on the knowledge and keen photographic eye of our founder to produce some of the most creative, inspiring, and unique aerial photography images that the industry has seen. Throughout our time in business, we’ve been privileged to work with a variety of different clients across a number of different industries and market sectors, including advertising, corporate, editorial, and real estate. We’ve even leant our skills, services, and expertise to private individual clients for one-off services.

Dan holds an unwavering passion for completing successful projects for every client, regardless of the challenges that may arise. No doubt a mindset that he fostered as a child, when he attended Camp Longhorn in Burnet and completed the mile swim test in Inks Lake, Dan has made a vow to himself that he’d never quit. In his professional life, Dan brings that very same attitude and mindset to each new project.

Whatever your needs may be, you can rest assured knowing that Highland Lakes Aerial Photography is here to deliver. We know this landscape like the back of our hand, and we’ll never quit on you.
